omega 3 oil taken in relation to evening primrose oil

Jika kita "care about" someone ie: orang tua kita yang dah tua tu, belikan omega oil dan evening primrose oil untuk mereka makan tiap tiap hari; semoga kaki lutut dan joint mereka tidak sakit bila nak sembahyang, nak duduk dan bergerak. Supaya ingatan mereka dan emosi mereka tetap kukuh dan tidak cepat beremosi.

Brain Function and Omega 3 Oil



An increasing amount of research is being done into the effects of Omega 3 fatty acids on the development of the brain (and eyes) in children, and the treatment of brain related disorders.

It is believed that Omega 3 oils play a vital role in the development of healthy neurons in infants, and can be useful in the treatment of mental illnesses including bipolar disorder (manic depression), depression and Schizophrenia in adults.

It has also been suggested that a deficiency in Omega 3 is a factor in the development of Autism, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Alzheimer's disease.

All cells in the body (including neurons) are wrapped in protective membranes which incorporate fatty acids such as Omega 3 oils. Researchers believe that healthy membranes lead to well protected, and therefore healthy, brain cells.

In the United States, Dr. Andrew Stoll's impressive results from his study of 30 bipolar patients treated with fish oil supplements, reported in the Archives of Psychiatry in 1999, led to much of the present interest in the psychiatric benefits of Omega 3 supplements.

Studies in Europe have linked lower rates of dementia with higher levels of oily fish consumption, whilst other studies have demonstrated links between Omega 3 and reduced levels of depression. Fish oil may also help to regulate the release of Cortisol, the stress hormone, resulting in improved brain function.


ADHD,Dyslexia and brain related deficit:
Many of us know, or know of, someone who suffers from Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We are told that the number of children suffering from Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD is rising steadily, but is this due to improved diagnostic techniques, or a more fundamental deficiency of essential fatty acids in modern western diets?


In 2001, researchers from Imperial College School of Medicine in London and the University of Oxford, found that children given the Omega 3 oil supplements were less anxious, more able to concentrate, and significantly better behaved than before. These results, alongside other work, suggest that a deficiency of fats of the type found in fish oil may cause, or at least exacerbate, problems in some children who have trouble with their reading and behaviour.

In the BBC programmes 'Child Of Our Time (Oct 2003)', and 'The Human Mind (Jan 2004)', Professor Robert Winston demonstrated how regular Omega 3 oil supplements cannot only help calm disruptive children, increase concentration and attentiveness, but also aid the development of early social skills.

Research into ADHD has shown that fatty acids are used to make brain and nerve tissue in the body and are crucial for proper growth, mental function, the immune system and brain development. The body cannot produce the two fatty acids families, Omega 3 and Omega 6, on its own and therefore must receive these key nutritional ingredients through diet and supplementation (such as MorEPA, MorDHA and Equazen Eye Q).
